Smart phones, iPADS, computers, ear buds, GPS devices, electric cars, digital cameras, audio recorders, video cameras, electronic readers, hearing aids, music players, fax machines, scanners, televisions, radios, DVRs, printers, copy machines, computer monitors, electric guitars, solar lights, car batteries, watches, toys, remote controls, hearing aids, flash lights…what have I forgotten?
Have you noticed that just about everything in your life requires a charge? Plugged in at some point, battery charged or grabbing a little bit of sunshine.
If everything around you requires a charge—a revitalization—how come you don’t?
Well, you actually do, and yet most of us don’t take that time because it feels like such a waste of time. We have to go-go-go, do-do-do to get everything accomplished. Does anyone ever say to you “I’ve got some time on my hands”? NO! We all profess to have no time, our days are filled, I’m overwhelmed.
Yet…if you don’t make time every day to recharge, there will be no charge left in you. And yes, I did say every day.
Here’s the other interesting thing that happens when you take 15-30 minutes each day to sit quietly—solutions arrive, new ideas percolate, the impossible path starts to show itself.
This week put 15-30 minutes EACH DAY on your calendar to sit quietly. No interruptions and absolutely do not take the time to do something else.
Otherwise, you’ll begin to look like that drawer of yours full of old, uncharged phones and electronics…
Go forth and do great things,
